Art Uptown November exhibit features Evelyn McCorristin Peters’ new paintings, in which she defines her sense of “home.”

Art Uptown artist Evelyn McCorristin Peters demonstrates her skill in capturing the essence of widely different realms in her upcoming show, Defining Home. The gallery will host an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on First Friday, November 3, at 1367 Main St.

Peters’ work is held in private collections throughout the US, Canada, Australia, France, Spain and the Netherlands. She has received awards and fellowships to Weir Farm National Historic Site, the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, Zion National Park and the Jentel Artist Residency Program. She is a member of The Petticoat Painters and serves on the governing board of Myakka River State Park, with a dedication to bringing artists and nature together.
