“The Collection” – Photography by Eska Palmer

Clothesline Gallery presents the work of Eska Palmer through the month of July. An opening reception will be held Friday, July 12th, 2013 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. “The Collection” will feature original darkroom photographs from her series “The Props Assist the House”, including pieces yet to be released online. www.eskapalmer.com

In this series, Palmer aims make domestic architecture something relatable and beautiful “As humans, we’ve made our houses in certain ways, and it says a lot about who we are,” says Palmer, “It’s a celebration of the mundane shapes that we’ve all lived in or dreamt in or cried in or made love in…it’s all of that.”

Eska Palmer grew up in Sarasota. She began formal photography training as a student at at Riverview high school. Her first camera was a 35mm minolta, which initated Palmer’s passion for film photography. She would attend the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduate with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Photography in 2011. Today she is represented a Elaine Fleck Gallery in Toronto, Canada. Palmer will be exhibiting in the fall in Canada.
