Annual juried SCF Art Student Exhibitions featuring the best artwork produced by State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students in the 2012-2013 academic year will be featured at opening receptions held noon – 2 p.m., April 11, in the Library at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 300, and 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, April 12, in the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The receptions are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
The exhibit at SCF Bradenton will display artwork including the Best in Show, SCF President’s Award and Juror’s Choice Award and the top three winners in the following categories: photography, graphic design, two-dimensional design and three-dimensional design. The juror for the exhibition will be Caui Lofgren, instructor and art department chair at IMG Academy. The exhibition runs through May 5. Artwork will be available for viewing Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
At SCF Venice, the exhibition features the following categories: graphic design, two-dimensional design and three-dimensional design. Cash prizes will be awarded. In addition, the Best in Show Award will be judged by Claudia Daniels, a local graphic design artist and educator. The exhibition runs through May 1. Artwork will be available for viewing Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
