The inaugural exhibition, Following Ovid’s Metamorphoses: From Cosmogony to Chaos and back to the Rhizome, is curated by Anne-Marie Melster and will be on display from March 15 to April 14, 2013.

The exhibition features the artwork of the folllowing 13 Fine Arts Students from the Ringling College of Art and Design: Jazz Leeb, Erin Schweers, Chris Schumaker, Mike Bailey, Freddie Lamoreaux, Diana Lueken, Cutter Hume, Mariana Jordan, Anna Paul, Megan Castellon, Alvy Vereecke, Katie Aucion and Zach See. The Two Columns Gallery creates a visual setting in downtown Sarasota that emphasizes the development of works of art through an integration of critical art theory and self directed approaches from the rigorous studio practice in Fine Arts at Ringling College of Art and Design. Through exhibitions and site-specific artworks, the space acts as a catalyst for learning about contemporary art and theory as well as demonstrating new and experimental approaches in the expansion of art.
