Each year the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota plans various events that help to promote the importance of the arts in our community and to provide funding for student scholarships from the proceeds of these events. In addition to these scholarships, the society presents educational programs and guest speakers at its monthly meetings for FASS members. Our events also impact our acquisitions program, providing the necessary funds to purchase art work for our art collection. Since 1970, many art works have been purchased through the years and are now on display at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center. This wonderful collection is open to the public as part of our collaboration with the Van Wezel. Art and Backstage tours are held once a month and are open to the public for a nominal fee. The Fine Arts Society of Sarasota is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
