Local Lifestyles Not Yet Realized
Opening Reception October 13, 2012, 5:00pm – 9:00-pm
Raised in Kentucky and trained in Fine Arts at the Ringling College of Art and Design, Darcy Little uses painting to construct vivid fantasies. In her latest work, Little portrays a romanticized version of life in Sarasota, FL. “I can only imagine all the splendors I am missing out on while spending all my time in the studio ,” says Little, longing for adventures that have yet to occur.

With sunset hues and luscious, fluid strokes juxtaposed by visceral marks, the works aid in transcendence. It takes viewers to an abstracted world, free from violence. Within the abstraction of this paradise, a nostalgic timelessness envelops those who willingly participate.
