EAST MEETS WEST: FROM RUSSIA TO AMERICA

Venice Art Center presents an exhibit of thirteen Russian and US artists that met in the town of Velikiy Novgorod, Russia for a cultural exchange.

On two separate occasions, thirteen Russian and US artists met in the town of Velikiy Novgorod, Russia for a cultural exchange.

Opening Reception is Friday, January 20, 5 – 7 p.m.

Artists within the exhibit are: [US artists] Joanna Coke (Mixed Media), Susan Cooper (Basketry), Susan Covert (Oil Painting), Ellen Kaiden (Watercolor), Judy Kramer (Photography), Judy Lyons Schneider (Mixed Media) and Jane McDowell (Fiber), [Russian artists] Boris Nepomniaschij (Printmaking), Alexander Oligerov (Acrylic), Olga Olonzheva (Dolls), Artur Visnap (Photography), Vladimir Yarish (Basketry), Dmitry Zhuravlev (Oil and Watercolor).

**A presentation about the artists’ exchange will be presented by Judy Kramer and Joanna Coke on Saturday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at Venice Art Center. Fee – $3 (members) $5 (non-members).

**“Sketching in Russia” – WEDNESDAY JANUARY 25 at 11 a.m. will be presented by Susie Covert at Venice Art Center. Fee – $3 (members) $5 (non-members).
